When launching a Multi-Language course, your learners will be prompted to select the language version they’d like to see by choosing an option from a drop-down menu.
This menu’s appearance cannot be directly changed in your Elucidat Project. Instead, it is controlled by the Project’s Style. There are several controls in the Style that control each aspect of the menu—each control is mapped out in the Style key below.
For more information about how to change your Style, see Editing a Style.
Caution: Styles can be assigned to more than one Project at a time. This means that changes to a Style will be reflected in all Projects that use it. If you‘d like to avoid this, you can duplicate the Style and edit the duplicate instead. |
Style key
Here is a table showing how to style each element of the language selector page.
Element | Description | Steps |
Select Language button text | The text in the button that launches the drop-down menu | Buttons > Action Button > Text colour |
Select Language button background | The background of the button that launches the drop-down menu | Buttons > Background colour |
Drop down list background | The background colour of the drop-down list of languages | Main Navigation > Project Menu > Active item colours > Background colour |
Drop down list text colour | The text colour in the drop-down list of languages | Main Navigation > Project Menu > Active item colours > Text colour |
Drop down list rollover colour | The colour that temporarily highlights a list item when hovering your cursor over it | Main Navigation > Project Menu > Menu text > Background colour |
Note: The fields described in the table directly control the corresponding elements. However, be aware that there are several fields in the Style that are linked together by default. In this case, the elements will be controlled by the parent field rather than the ones listed above. You can unlink these fields by selecting Unlink next to the colour field you‘d like to edit. |
Checking your changes
The Multi-Language selection drop-down cannot be viewed in Preview mode. To check your changes, create a release and launch it. If you need to make further changes, you will need to re-release the course for them to become visible.
Tip: It may be more convenient to create an Online Link release so you can launch it directly in your browser, rather than making a SCORM for LMS release and uploading it to your LMS. |
