There are several checks and QA steps we'd recommend you carry out before you go live to your learners. These should be carried out at both the authoring phase of a Project, and when you are publishing it within your LMS.
Learner experience
Confirm that the user can progress as required through the course and that all links and page settings have been configured correctly.
Check that your content is visually correct and works well. Go through the course all the way through and ask yourself:
- Can the content can be fully interacted with without any issues?
- If I was a learner, would my experience be a good one?
You may also want to check that your content displays correctly on different device views, especially if you know that your learners will be accessing the course via different methods. Use the Device View slider in the platform to get an impression of how it might look on different devices and if it's possible, test with real devices too.
If you would like more help and advice with reviewing your content, see this Masterclass course.
SCORM packages and your LMS
Make sure your test file has the desired SCORM setting (1.2 or 2004) and that it is sending the success verb that is most appropriate for your content (e.g. Passed or Completed). You can read more about this in Choosing which SCORM version to use with your course.
If you are using the Backup SCORM release mode, you may want to check whether there is an upper limit to your LMS's supported file size.
We advise confirming that assets (e.g. images, video, audio, fonts, symbols) display correctly after uploading to your LMS.
Confirm that your course is Completing/Passing when expected and passing the score to your LMS if applicable.
We advise checking that bookmarking is working in your LMS when you close and re-open the course. Check it at several different points in the course. If you'd like more information about how bookmarking works, see Understanding bookmarking in Elucidat.
