Background images can be an effective way to make your course look more appealing to your learners. Background images can either be added to all pages in your course, to individual pages or to specific sections of a page.
Adding a background image to all pages in a Project
1. Open any page in the Project you wish to add a background image for all pages to.
2. Open the page in Author.
3. Select the Edit menu on the top right of the page. This contains controls that affect all pages in your Project at once:
4. Under the Image tab, upload the image you would like to appear in the background for all pages. For more information about how to add an image, see Adding an image.
5. Once you have applied the desired settings, information on which can be found in Best Practice: Working with images, the Save button to save the changes. The image will now appear in the background for all pages in the Project:
Adding a background image to a single page
1. Open the page in the Project that you’d like to add a background image to..
2. Open the page in Author.
3. Select the Edit menu for the page, this is the icon that scrolls with the page:

4. Under the Image tab, upload the image you want to appear as the background for that specific page.
5. Once you have applied the desired settings select the Save button to save the changes. The image will now appear in the background for that specific page in the Project.
Adding a background image to a specific section of the page
1. Open the page in the Project whose section you want to add the background image to.
2. Open the page in Author.
3. Select the Edit menu at the top right of the section:
4. Under the Image tab, upload the image you want to appear as the background for that specific section.
5. Once you have applied the desired settings, select the Save button to save the changes. The image will now appear in the background for that specific section on the page:
