Welcome back to the Elucidat release notes! Here you'll find clear and concise updates about what's new, what's improved, and what we've fixed in our latest release.
Today's release introduces image replacement to Elucidat Create. You can now replace images in your Create Asset Library and instantly update them wherever they are used. For instructions on how to do this, see Replacing images in the Asset Library.
We have also introduced an improvement to the way learner data anonymisation is applied to a Project in Elucidat Author. Anonymising learner data has a high impact on your courses as it permanently and irreversibly obfuscates the data of learners who have accessed them. This is useful if you need to keep your learners' information anonymous but can be problematic if applied unintentionally. We've made it so that the ability to apply anonymisation is only available to Administrators to help prevent the possibility of data being unintentionally anonymised.
See below for the full list of updates.

General updates
Fixes that affect both platforms
- It is no longer possible to create duplicate glossary terms in the Translation Glossary. Duplicated terms will be skipped when added to the glossary.
Allowlist updates
- We have amended our allowlist configuration recommendation to include SimpleLocalize—a service that facilitates the platform's localisation.
Elucidat Author
Improvements and changes
- Learner data anonymisation can no longer be applied to a Project by any user who has access to view its Analytics data. Now, only Administrators are permitted to apply data anonymisation to Projects.
Fixes
- Previously, accessing the Translation Glossary via Elucidat Author was not possible for accounts or users who did not have access to Elucidat Create. Now, the Glossary is available to access in Author for all users regardless of their access to Elucidat Create.
- English Variations created with Auto-Translate from French or German Parent courses no longer fail to load when opened for editing.

Fixes
- Setting a glossary term to Hungarian was not possible despite it being a supported language for Auto-Translate. It is now possible to select Hungarian as a glossary term language.
- In Elucidat Create, the language of a new Project was determined by the language of the user's browser. For example, if a user's browser language is in French, the newly created Project's language would also be set to French. Now, a new Project's language is set to the language of the user's Elucidat Create interface.
- Deleting a user from your account resulted in a blank entry where the user used to be in the Project or Asset Share modal window. Now, the user is removed entirely when they have been deleted.
- When duplicating a Project with a title at or near the 255 character limit, the new suggested title for the duplicate could potentially take the title over the limit. If user proceeded with the duplication, it resulted in a failure. It is now not possible to continue with the duplication if the resulting duplicate's title exceeds 255 characters; the title's character count must be reduced in order to be able to continue.
- Previously, the checkboxes in the Enhance with AI modal were unresponsive when selected. Now, users can interact with the checkboxes as expected.
New features
- It's now possible to replace images in your Elucidat Create asset library.
Note: These release notes focus on major new features, improvements, and bug fixes that users will experience directly. Unlike a detailed changelog which lists all technical changes, these notes highlight the most important updates. Our team is constantly working on essential background improvements, including backend systems, infrastructure, and preparation for future features. While this parallel work is not listed here, it is strategically planned and executed alongside the visible improvements described in these notes. |
