Using free stock media assets in your Projects

Imagery is often an important factor when creating engaging elearning. However, it can be difficult if you're just getting started and have limited access to company media assets or have only a few assets to choose from.

Elucidat's stock media Asset Library allows you to choose high-quality media assets from Pixabay for your courses. The assets are free to use, and royalty-free, meaning you aren't required to attribute the original author of the work.

Note: While Pixabay's Content License permits general free usage of their content, we recommend reviewing their terms to check if your specific conditions permit you to use their assets in your courses.

Browsing stock assets in the Asset Library

1. Select Asset Library from the top toolbar

2. Select Add assets

3. Choose Find assets from online libraries

There are several different ways to find what you need.

If you already have an idea of what you want, you can use the search bar at the top right of the library window to search for specific keywords:

It's best to keep your search to one or two keywords and refine it with the filters.

You can find the filters at the top left of the asset window. There are four filters to choose from:

  • Type which refines the type of asset being searched for.
  • Category which filters assets by their context. For example, Business or Education.
  • Colour which filters assets by the main colour used in the image.
  • Order which filters assets by popularity or recency
Note: Currently, Image is the only available asset type. Other asset types like video may be implemented in future updates.

Adding media to your Asset Library

When you've found the asset you need, select Import to add it to your Asset Library:

The asset is now permanently stored in your Asset Library and can be accessed at any time. To find out more about how to add an asset from your library to a Project, see Using files from the Asset Library in Projects.
