User Roles contain a set of permissions that define which areas a user can access and what actions they can take. If you need to check the specific permissions included in a role, you can see the full list in the User Roles section of Team.

You can enable or disable permissions in a User Role and create new ones if you have the Advanced User Management feature. See the articles below for more information on how to customise your User Roles:
Note: User Role permissions relate to actions and access to certain areas of the platform; the permissions list does not provde information about which Projects a user can acccess. Project access is defined by user scopes applied to individual users. For more information about the different access scopes, see Using access scopes to limit a user's access to Projects. |

1. Go to Team
2. Select User Roles from the toolbar to show the list of roles:
Intepreting the permissions overview
You can see all your User Roles in the overview:
Each User Role has an indicator that shows a quick overview of the scale of permissions in each category.
Indicates all permissions in that category have been enabled
Indicates some permissions in that category have been enabled
Indicates that none of the permissions in that category have been enabled
You can also see how many users are assigned to a user role in the Users column. This can be helpful to quickly understand the scale of a potential change to permissions.

1. Select the role you'd like to check to view the permissions list.
