The Text Answer Individual Feedback question type allows you to provide the learner with specific feedback depending on the answer they submitted.
Adding a Text Answer Individual Feedback question type
1. Open the page in your course where you would like to add the Text Answer Individual Feedback question type.
2. In Layout, navigate to the position on the page where you would like to add the Text Answer Individual Feedback question type and press the Add here button.
3. Select Questions and Results:
4. Press Select one answer:
5. Select Text Answer Individual Feedback:
6. A Text Answer Individual Feedback question type will be added to the page and three answers will be added by default. Press the Save button to save the changes.
Text Answer Individual Feedback Settings
In Layout, the settings for the Text Answer Individual Feedback question type can be found by selecting the Variations menu on the top right of the interaction:
Under Variations you have the option to select the Form Type. This setting determines whether the question is considered as part of a Survey, or used as a Knowledge Check:

The Space around answers option lets you determine how close the answers are to the edges of the question container.
The Items per row options allows you to determine how many answers appear before a new row starts. This setting can also be individually applied to Tablet and Mobile device views.
The Hide Question Header checkbox allows you to remove the bold question header on the form.
Setting up a Text Answer Individual Feedback question type
In Author, select to activate the text boxes to change the default text to the question you want to ask and to add a sentence before the answer, if required:
By default, all of the answers are set to incorrect, and you will need to set the one correct answer. To select whether an answer is correct (or change it back to incorrect), select the Edit menu on the top right of the answer element:
Under Answer is… select your preferred setting for the answer:
To add more answer options for the learner to choose from, press the + Add Answer button on the bottom right of the interaction:
Once you have entered your individual answers for your question, you can then set the specific feedback for each answer. To do this, press the Submit button to bring up the popup for editing feedback options:
Then select the answer whose feedback you want to edit:
This will bring up a popup with default text which can be edited to provide feedback specific to that answer:
When your learner submits that answer, the feedback will appear to them in the popup.
Text Answer Individual Feedback Example
Here is a typical example of how a Text Answer Individual Feedback question type is often used. This example asks the learner to select the most populous city in the UK:
The learner selects the answer they believe to be correct and presses the Submit button:
The popup for that answer appears, providing the learner with feedback specific to that answer:
